Gasometer A from the
Southwest
This Gasometer had been revitalised by the French
architect Jean Nouvel. It contains beside the Shopping and offices
a pharmacy and medical clinics. In front of the Gasometer A is the
main entrace of the Shoppingmall and the station of the subway U3.

Gasometer A to D (Southside)
The historic wall on the outside of the Gasometer
consists of over 47 Millions of bricks, that had been build in 72
days to these walls in 1898.
New windows were cut into the external wall to get
more light into the appartements that are in the Gasometer. The
new windows are hidden by architecture and not noticeable. The appartements
are situatet between the 8th and 17th projectile upper ground level.
There are offices, the mall and garages below them.

Gasometer C (Northwest)
The Gasometer C got rebuild by the Austrian Architect
Univ Prof. Manfred Wehdorn. He combines the historic old wall with
typically Viennese architecture - for example the pergolas in the
yard of the Gasometer C.

The four Gasometers are a widely viewable landmark.
It represents the 11th district of Vienna, called Simmering. |

The Shield at Gasometer
B (Northwest)
Architect Prix of the Team Coop Himmelblau attached the modern
Shield to the historic Gasometer. He wanted to bring some modern
architecture in coexistence with the historic old Gasometers.
